Today is the first day I’m able to write from my front porch! Having a newborn is hard, not having a living room due to construction is harder, and so being able to have an extra space to live in is so refreshing.
Unrelated- I recently had a moth scare, so my yarn is packed into compression bags taunting me from our kitchen where they have been displaced. Looking at my entire stash has me wanting to furiously knit it down and make way for some yummy spring and summer knits! Something light and airy for the long spring and summer days I’ll be spending outside with baby girl. Here are a few of my favorites!
Deschain by Leila Raven
This is my own Deschain that I knit back in 2019. It has definitely become a spring & summer staple in my wardrobe. I’m even thinking of making another in a more neutral color. It’s the perfect layering piece in a chain linen or cotton yarn over a tank or dress on those late summer evenings. Seriously, don’t sleep on this pattern.
Kaarina Tee by Sari Nordlund

Sari Nordlund is a new to me designer, although seems very well-known and prolific at that! I’m obsessing over all of the cables in her patterns, and the mix of texture with a silk yarn sounds divine. Once I work through a bit of my stash, I’ll definitely be shopping for this project.
Suri Shirt by Caidree

This is such a beautiful, simple, yet chic pattern! Although the name says Suri, this is made from a beautiful silk yarn. Trust me… I’ve been looking to add some to my stash to be ready when I find these beautiful spring/summery projects!
Mooncrush Tank by Jacqueline Cieslack

Proposal to start a Jacqueline Cieslack fan club! I’m obsessed with Jacqueline’s Embody book and it’s traversing into her individual patterns as well. Mooncrush is such a unique looking top, and I have some Disney inspired yarn en route that will be perfect for it. Although I’ll be knitting it in wool, I think this is still the perfect pattern for spring and summer, and will likely become a wardrobe staple!
Outline Tee by Jessie Maed

One more cotton/linen blend for the road! I absolutely love the blends of these spring fabrics. I’ve never been a big fan of cotton, it’s so stiff to work with but once we add a little linen to the mix, my heart skips a beat. The pattern is a really interesting construction, and easily modifiable. I love the lace accent down the front and the flow and fit of the design. This would be yet another perfect layering or on its own piece throughout the warmer months.
I’d love to hear from you! Are you itching to cast on any of these projects? Let me know in the comments!
